What To Expect
-
Sunday Worship is the most important thing we do at HCL. Whether you’ve been a Christian for years or are just curious, we’d love for you to join us. During the service, which lasts for about an hour, we sing, read the Bible, and hear a short talk (“sermon”) based on what we’ve read.
Tea & Coffee @ 10am
Worship @ 10.30am
-
We also meet each Tuesday at 7.30pm to study the Bible more in depth and pray for one another. Our desire is to grow in our faith and love for Jesus, and so we gather to encourage each other in that.
FAQs
What should I wear?
Come as you are! There’s no dress code and we want you to feel comfortable as you join us.
What happens when I arrive?
Someone will greet you at the door, with tea and coffee served inside. A signal will be given shortly before the service starts to give you time to get a seat, and pick up a printed ‘order of service’ sheet explaining everything that happens.
What do I do during the service?
The minister or service leader guides us through the service - you are free to simply watch and listen. We do stand and sing psalms and hymns together, but there is no expectation for you to take part if you feel uncomfortable.
What happens after?
If you have time, stay behind for tea and coffee - we love meeting new people!
Questions?
You may have lots of questions about what we do or what we believe, and that’s great! Please feel free to ask Derek, our minister, or anyone on the team who would be delighted to talk with you or meet up to chat further.
